Paint protection film (PPF) in Corby
From Corby, most longer journeys start on the A43 or the A14, and both are heavy with lorries. Following them means a steady spray of stones and grit at the front of your car, and every chip is a spot where your paint has gone. Paint protection film takes those hits instead.
Behind lorries, the front end takes the damage
Stones thrown up by HGV tyres travel fast and land low and forward: the bumper, the leading edge of the bonnet, the mirrors and the headlights. A front-end package covers exactly those surfaces, which is why it's what most people choose.
The film is a clear urethane layer, thick enough to absorb an impact that would chip paint, with a self-healing top coat that closes light scratches with heat. Edges are wrapped around panel ends wherever the shape allows, which keeps them from showing or lifting.
It's reversible, too. Quality film comes away cleanly from original factory paint, so the paint underneath comes back out in the condition it was in on the day it was covered.

Paint Protection Film (PPF) in Corby: questions
Will PPF damage my paint when it's removed?+
Not on original factory paint in good condition — quality film peels away cleanly. The risk is on resprayed or poorly repaired panels, where the paint may not be bonded as well. We check for that before fitting.
Can you see paint protection film?+
From normal viewing distance, very little. Close up, you may notice an edge where the film can't be wrapped around a panel. Wrapping edges wherever the shape allows keeps those to a minimum.
How long does PPF take to fit?+
Usually two to five days depending on coverage, including the decontamination and correction the paint needs first. Film should never go over swirls or contamination, because they'd be sealed underneath it.
