Ceramic coating in Northampton

If you're commuting out of Northampton on the M1 or the A45, your paint is having a harder life than it looks. A ceramic coating is how you stop it wearing down: a hard, bonded layer that takes the grime, the salt and the bird lime instead of your clear coat.

Why it's worth it on a Northampton car

Motorway miles are the hardest thing a finish goes through. Traffic film — the greasy grey layer that builds up on anything doing regular M1 runs — bonds to bare clear coat and takes a proper chemical wash to shift. On a coated car it can't get a grip, so an ordinary wash takes it straight off.

Then there's winter. The A45 and the M1 junctions are gritted hard from November, and salt spray sits in the shut-lines and along the lower panels for weeks. A coating won't stop salt reaching the car, but it stops it bonding, so it rinses away instead of sitting there.

And if you park anywhere near Abington Park, Delapre or any of the big lime trees around town, you'll know about the sticky film they drop all summer. On bare paint in the heat, that and bird lime leave marks fast. On a coating, they wipe off.

Ceramic Coatings in Northampton: questions

Do you ceramic coat cars at home in Northampton?+

Yes — we're fully mobile across NN1 to NN5 and the villages around. A coating does need dry, still conditions for application and the first part of the cure, so a garage or covered space is ideal. If you don't have one, mention it when you ask for a quote and we'll plan it properly rather than rush it.

Does my car need paint correction before ceramic coating?+

Almost always. A coating is transparent and lasts years, so anything left on the paint gets sealed in underneath it. On a newer car that might only mean a light enhancement; on a car with a few years of washes behind it, usually a proper correction. We check under inspection lighting and tell you honestly which.

How long does a ceramic coating last?+

On a daily-driven car in real British conditions, a quality coating gives two to three years of genuine performance, and longer on a garaged car. We offer different systems depending on how long you're keeping the car, and we'll be straight with you about what each one actually delivers.
