Paint correction in Leicester
Quick hand car washes are everywhere in Leicester, and they're quick for a reason: one mitt, one bucket, and grit from every car that went before yours. If your car's been through a few, the swirls are almost guaranteed. Machine polishing takes them out of the clear coat for good.
Swirls, scratches and the difference between them
Swirls are thousands of tiny, shallow scratches running in every direction — the signature of contact washing. They sit within the clear coat, and polishing removes them completely.
Deeper single scratches are different: a bag dragged along a door, a bike handlebar, a careless key. If it's still within the clear coat, it can be polished out or greatly reduced. If you can catch a fingernail in it, it's probably through to the colour, and polishing will only soften it.
City parking adds door-edge marks and light scuffs from tight spaces. Those are often shallow enough to correct on a single panel, without doing the whole car.

Paint correction in Leicester: questions
Can swirl marks from a hand car wash be removed?+
Yes. They sit within the clear coat, so machine polishing removes them permanently. Going back to the same car wash afterwards will put them straight back, though.
What's the difference between a scratch and a swirl?+
Swirls are fine, shallow scratches in every direction, mostly from washing. A scratch is a single, deeper mark. Swirls polish out completely; deeper scratches may only reduce.
Can you do paint correction if I live in a flat?+
Usually, yes. It needs space around the car and dry conditions — a covered or underground car park, with permission, can actually be ideal because it's sheltered.
