Paint correction & swirl removal in Peterborough

Dull paint in Peterborough usually has two causes working together. The fine circular scratches come from sponges, brushes and drying towels. The spotted haze over the top comes from mineral-heavy water drying on the paint. Machine polishing deals with both — properly, rather than with a filler that washes out.

What machine polishing can and can't fix

Correction levels a fraction of the clear coat so the bottom of each scratch becomes the new surface. Swirls, wash marring, holograms left by a previous bad polish, and etched water spots all come out this way — permanently.

What it won't fix is anything that's gone through the clear coat: a scratch you can catch a fingernail in, or a deep stone chip. We'll show you those before we start rather than let you find them afterwards.

Because clear coat is so thin, we measure paint depth before polishing and take only what's needed. Done right, a car can be corrected several times over its life. Done badly, it ends in a respray.

2-Step Paint Correction in Peterborough: questions

How much swirl removal can I expect?+

A one-step correction typically removes 60–70% of swirling. A two-step removes 90% or more. The right choice depends on the car's condition and what you want from it — we'll look at it in daylight and tell you.

Can etched water spots be removed?+

Usually, yes. If they've etched into the clear coat but not through it, polishing removes them. Fresh spots that are only sitting on the surface come off with the right acidic cleaner and don't need polishing at all.

Which parts of Peterborough do you cover?+

All of PE1 to PE7 and the villages around, plus Stamford and Oundle nearby.
