How fast does bird lime damage paint?+
On a hot day, within hours. It's acidic, and heat makes clear coat more vulnerable. Remove it as soon as you can by softening it with a spray and lifting it — never wipe it off dry.
Does a ceramic coating stop bug splatter marking the paint?+
It makes a big difference. Insects don't bond to a coated surface the way they do to bare paint, so they come off with a pre-wash. It's still best not to leave them for days in hot weather.
Should I have the glass coated too?+
On dark, wet country roads it's worth it. Coated glass sheds rain at speed so you rely less on the wipers, and bugs come off the windscreen far more easily.
