Paint correction & swirl removal in Rutland
Rutland's narrow lanes come with a hazard most town cars never meet: hedges. Hawthorn and bramble leave long, fine scratches down the sides of the car — what detailers call hedge rash. Most of it is far shallower than it looks, and machine polishing takes it out.
Hedge rash, swirls and what will come out
Hedge scratches usually run in long horizontal lines along the doors and wings, at hedge height. Because they're dragged rather than struck, most stay within the clear coat — which means they can be polished out completely.
Swirls from washing are a separate layer of damage on top: fine, circular and visible in sunlight. A correction deals with both at once, then the finish is protected so it holds.
Anything deep enough to catch a fingernail — a thorn that's gone through to the colour — will only be reduced, not removed. We'll show you which marks those are before we start.

Can hedge scratches be polished out?+
Most can. They're usually shallow scratches within the clear coat, which machine polishing removes. Any that have gone through to the colour can be softened but not removed completely.
Is swirl mark removal the same as paint correction?+
Yes — paint correction is the proper name for machine polishing that removes swirls and other defects from the clear coat. A one-step removes around 60–70%; a two-step removes 90% or more.
Can you protect the sides from hedge scratches afterwards?+
A ceramic coating helps with light marring and makes the car easier to keep clean, but it won't stop a thorn. Paint protection film on the most exposed panels is the only real physical protection.
